35 STEPS TO LOSE WEIGHT
- Use SMALLER plate
- SMALLER portions
- NO second helpings
- SERVE in kitchen
- WRITE everything down BEFORE you eat it
- Get your FAMILY to HELP
- Don't have PROBLEM FOODS in house
- FREEZE leftover TEMPTING foods
- WAIT 1/2 hour BEFORE eating a CHEAT
- ALWAYS have SUBSTITUTE foods around
- Finish CHEWING before picking up your fork again
- DON’T BE AFRAID to LEAVE FOOD on plate
- BE PREPARED BEFORE you go to a restaurant, movie, or party
- SEND TEMPTING foods home with YOUR GUESTS
- DRINK WATER instead of a CHEAT
- PLAN menus in ADVANCE
- DON’T EAT while you’re STANDING
- Use a REWARD OTHER than food
- DON’T LICK your FINGER while COOKING
- REMOVE excess FAT from foods
- EAT SLOWLY
- SUBSTITUTE an ALTERNATIVE activity when seeking food
(art, walk, journal, friend)
- SHOP from a LIST
- SHOP after EATING
- WRAP UP AND PUT BACK shelf foods that SET YOU UP
- PREPARE and PLAN in ADVANCE (avoid hurry and indecision)
- PREPARE for social situations
- SEPARATE eating from OTHER ACTIVITIES
- Believe in BREAKING the chain of BINGEING- at any time!!!
- DON'T peruse menu too well
- TEA, COFFEE OR WATER first
- LEAVE HALF YOUR MEAL TO BREAK THE CYCLE
- DELAY EATING 10 minutes to EXPLORE emotional needs
- WEIGH yourself only ONCE each week
- COMPENSATE for over indulgence---EAT LESS at next meal
